Introducing a brand new Rota Editor

We’re excited to share that our brand new Rota Editor is now live!

Having been at the heart of our product since day one, helping our clients build beautifully accurate rotas week on week; we decided it was time for the old Rota Editor to have a bit of a revamp.

So we looked at industry trends, collated your feedback on our existing product, and enhanced the Rota Editor’s functionality based on this insight. Polishing everything off with a fresh new look, we made the new and improved version both functionally and visually superior to its predecessor.

So without further ado, here’s a quick overview of what’s new:

Drafts, published and live rotas all in one place.

Drafts, published and live rotas are now centralised within the new Rota Editor; so you can see and do everything in one place.

Introduction of the right click

You can now right click on a shift to reveal a range of options including copy, paste and delete.

Easy switching between sites

If you manage multiple sites you can now switch between them without leaving the rota.

Enhanced filtering functionality

You can now sort by first name, last name and date joined; as well as being able to search for specific employee details.

Easily accessible support

Live chat now sits within the product so you can ask us a question, or leave us some feedback at any time!

Detailed overview of every shift

You can now see the location of a shift, if it’s being broadcasted and any notes, within the shift cell.

A cleaner way of viewing split shifts

Split shifts are now displayed as a tally in the top right corner of each employee’s day, rather than being stacked on top of one another. Hovering over a day causes it to rotate through each shift. And clicking displays all shifts in a more detailed overlay.

If you aren’t currently a Rotaready client but are interested in more information about our new Rota Editor and how it could work for you, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us at team@rotaready.com

If you’re a Rotaready client and have any questions about this update, you can either get in touch with your Customer Success Manager or email us at team@rotaready.com. In the meantime, here are the answers to some common questions:

When will I get to use the new Rota Editor?

We are in the process of rolling out the new Rota Editor to all clients. Everyone will be switched over by November 2020.

Is there any training available on how to use the new Rota Editor?

Ease of use is at the forefront of our design, so we hope you’ll get along with the new version just fine. However, we have included a product tour within Rotaready; so you’ll be guided through what’s new and how to use each area of the product when you first use it.

What do my managers need to know about using the new Rota Editor?

Everything you need to know is explained either in this blog or via the product tour mentioned above. If you do have any additional questions, feel free to reach out to your Customer Success Manager or drop as an email at team@rotaready.com

Will the new interface/design be reflected in other areas of the product/mobile app?

Yes, the new design will be rolled out across the entire product in due course. You can find our full product roadmap here.
