Head of Marketing

For our first ’60 seconds with…’ of 2021, we caught up with UX/UI Designer, Shaun Knopek. Here’s what he got up to before Rotaready, where he sees himself in 20 years time and why he’d try his hand in the Customer Success team, if he wasn’t heading up design.

What did you do before working at Rotaready?

Over the past 8 years I have worked in a range of design jobs, from more traditional practises like print and graphics, all the way to digital, web and product. Prior to this I worked with children for 5 years, in government play schemes.

What do you like most about your job?

The quality and pride that we take in our work. The people and culture makes the environment amazing, even over the past year where everything has been via Zoom or Slack.

Where do you see yourself in 20 years time?

Designing an app like ‘space-scoper’, getting you the times for your next shuttle to Mars.

If you weren’t working in the Design team which role would you take on?

Customer success, listening and helping out customers really appeals to me.

What’s your dream holiday destination?

Japan 🇯🇵

What’s your favourite meal?

It really depends on what mood I’m in, but I always love trying out different burger places.

What are you most likely to be found doing at the weekend?

Coffee, gaming, exercising and drinking. I do also love a visit to a National Trust site – gotta get that scenery in 😍

What would you sing at Karaoke night?

Sing is an overstatement, but my go to seems to be Katy Perry – I kissed a girl…

If you could have one super power what would it be?

Time travel!

What’s your best joke?

What did the pirate say when he turned 80 years old?
Aye matey
