Next up in our ’60 seconds with…’ series is resident Welshman and Software Engineer, Craig. Here’s what he did before Rotaready, what he likes most about his role and which holiday destination he’d like to visit post COVID-19.
What did you do before working at Rotaready?
Before Rotaready, I worked as a Software Engineer at Sky after joining them through their graduate scheme. I worked on their web and console applications, where half the job was to watch TV!
What do you like most about your job?
There’s a lot to like at Rotaready, be it the flexibility to innovate on the projects we work on, to being surrounded by some truly great colleagues. The beer from the office fridge on a Friday afternoon is a nice bonus. 🍻
Where do you see yourself in 20 years time?
I don’t really envision that I will change working in technology, but who knows? As long as I’m doing something I enjoy, surrounded by family, friends, and a dog, I’ll be happy.
What’s your dream holiday destination?
I do enjoy my travel, but Iceland has always been up there as a place I want to visit. Witnessing the Northern Lights is on my bucket list, and there’s just so much beauty Iceland has to offer.
What’s your favourite meal?
Anything Mexican. Who can resist Fajitas or Nachos as a hearty meal?
What would you sing at Karaoke night?
As a proud Welshman, I normally get persuaded into paying homage to my idol, Tom Jones, with a pitch perfect rendition of Delilah. Though given a choice, I tend to stick with a crowd pleaser. Anyone for some Wonderwall?
If you could have one super power what would it be?
I’d want the ability to control time. You could use it to get yourself and others out of tricky situations, and you could definitely have some fun with the mischief you can cause… Why have a superpower if you can’t enjoy it as well?
What’s your best joke?
Just want to warn the person who stole my glasses, I have my contacts.
